CHENGDU, May 29, 2026 — The Chengdu-Germany Economic and Trade Cooperation Matching Conference ("Rong-Eu Industrial Dialogue") was held at Chengdu's Eastern Suburb Memory as a key dialogue scene of the "2026 Experience Germany · German Brands Week". German and Chengdu enterprises exchanged face to face, and the Chengdu Municipal Commerce Bureau released the "Rong-Pin Rong-Qi Going Global" two-way demand and market opportunities list. Chengdu Daily's official coverage of the event spotlighted WIDER (Hangzhou Waide Import and Export Co., Ltd.), the China general agent for German drugstore chain dm.
"Chengdu consumers show remarkable inclusiveness and a pursuit of high-quality, refined living — which perfectly matches the dm brand philosophy," said Xuan Li, CEO of WIDER and general agent of dm in China, as quoted by Chengdu Daily. "We focus on Chengdu for its strategic location and strong radiating effect as a city. Rooted here, we can connect quality European products with the growing consumer demand in western China and extend our brand influence across the entire southwest market."
According to the report, Chengdu-Germany trade reached USD 3.29 billion in 2025, growing double digits year-on-year, with 74 German-invested enterprises including Siemens, Bosch and BMW operating in Chengdu. At the conference, domestic and German guests alike photographed the newly released two-way opportunities list — a sign, the report noted, of the momentum behind two-way trade between Chengdu enterprises and their German counterparts.
